Every time a baby is born, a mom has her story to tell. Triumphs and troubles, poignant, scary and funny moments - every birth story is as individual as fingerprints.
I went off birth control, started tracking my cycles and tried to time things just right.
Yrs, mths passed and nothing happened. I was working with Construction Company as an HR/ADM Exec and was very unhappy and stressed. The stress was taking a toll on my health and my family, so one day I just packed my stuff and tender. Within a month I was pregnant, though I didn't know it.
When I got pregnant, I couldn't believe it. I took a pregnancy test, then about 3 more tests, and finally, by the fourth test, I suspected that it was in fact possible since we had been sort-of-kind-of-not-really doing natural family planning & apparently, I wasn't as in tune with my body as I thought.
I looked down at my stomach. Something was in there, and it wasn't just last night's cheeseburger and fries. I did a few laps around my house with a cheesy grin, saying, "Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God," and finally settled on telling my husband when he got home from work.
Showtime...
I was told I have complete placenta previa at 25 weeks. My doctor addressed it to me as a very serious issue and said that I will most likely 99% chance have a C section and that our goal will be for me to make it to at least 34 weeks. He also said that usually when it is found late in the pregnancy that it usually doesn't move. He said that complete bedrest may very well be in my future and that I shouldn't travel or have SX at all for the rest of the pregnancy. I am in shock!!! My pregnancy has been going so well up to this point and I don't have any of the risk factors that usually predipose someone to having this condition. I am hoping for a miracle when I go for my next ultrasound and hopefully it did move :-)
By mth 7 ( 28 weeks) of pregnancy….doctor confirm placenta previa Type 3 & my case was forward to Hospital Sg Buloh & I need to be hospitalized.I've been given corticosteriods to speed up my baby's lung development and to prevent other complications in case me ends up being delivered prematurely.
When i starts bleeding (30weeks) for the 1st time (@ 1am), that was the scary moment...It's painless, but start without warning... from spotting then extremely heavy bleeding..huh, TAK BLH DILUPAKAN!!!...
3rd time bleeding @ 32weeks, all at once I realized, This is happening. This is actually going to happen, and I can't stop it. I had been refusing to think of the pain of C-Section (emergency cesarean delivery ), and now I was here. I felt blindsided, confused, and ecstatic....TAAAKKKUUUTTTT...nurse siap ckp, "nape muka puan pucat nih"....huhuhu....they pull me to Operation Room...suddenly....didn't know what happen, fully fainted.
When awake, i feel like coughing but feel uncomfortable & just remember, yeah yeah dh BERANAK...hehehe... time tgh blur tu, i ask nurse, baby boy @ gurl, she said gurl...Alhamdullilah...
I always knew I was having a girl. Even though the ultrasound couldn't tell us conclusively, I just knew. I'd also known since day 1 pregnancy, what I wanted to name my daughter: Allysa Sofea.
After delivery...
Down in my room, all of family came to see me. Hubby was the one who really excited watching our baby in NICU. Hubby kiss my forehead & keep on saying, "anak kita cantik Mi..anak kita cantik"... & given a picture of her for me. I'm a bit blurry at that time, antara dgr & tak dgr jer all his words. On day 2, when I finally got to hold her that night, I was so surprised at how tiny she was! And she looked just like me! I stayed in the hospital for a another 4days, so I could go see her whenever I wanted, though I only got to hold her twice a day. I did'nt care about the pain anymore, just happy to see & hold her, she's perfect...Alhamdulillah...
After day 4, Allysa's came out & was discharge same day with me. I came home after nearly 1mth in the Hospital & Allysa 4days in NICU and weighed 2.5kg, when she was released on June 10,2007.
